Secretary Cascos marks National Voter Registration Day

Austin, TX — Today, people all across the country will celebrate the fourth annual National Voter Registration Day. Texas Secretary of State Carlos Cascos reminds Texans to register by Oct. 5 for the November 3 Constitutional Amendment Election.
“You can’t vote if you don’t register. Therefore, I’m encouraging qualified Texans to register today or before October 5 in order to be ready for the upcoming election,” said Secretary Cascos.
To register, Texans can fill out an online form available through VoteTexas.gov, print it, sign it, and mail it in. Texans may also contact their county voter registrar for applications and questions.
For the 13.6 million Texans already registered to vote, Secretary Cascos had an additional message.
“Now is also a good time to check your registration to make sure you are prepared for Election Day on November 3,” said Secretary Cascos.
Texans already registered can review their information through VoteTexas.gov using links under the register to vote section. If voters need to update their address, they can do so online as long as they still reside in their county of registration. If a voter wishes to change their county of registration, they will need to send in a new application.
This November, Texans will vote on seven proposed amendments to the Texas Constitution. Early voting begins on Oct.19 and ends on Oct. 30. Election Day is Nov. 3, 2015.
