Business Services

We are pleased to announce that business entity filing services will launch in our new system, SOSPortal, later this fall. SOSPortal will replace both SOSDirect and SOSUpload filing and search systems. This modernized platform will provide faster processing times and an improved, user‑friendly experience.

What is changing?

The transition to SOSPortal introduces several enhancements designed to make filing easier and more efficient:

  • A modern, intuitive, and user‑friendly interface
  • More secure access through multi‑factor authentication
  • Ability to upload self‑drafted documents
  • Option to save filing submissions as drafts
  • A shopping cart feature for filings and expedited services

As we prepare to migrate these services to SOSPortal, please review the following important updates:

  • Client Accounts will not be available in the new system.
  • All existing Client Account funds must be used before SOSPortal goes live.
  • Existing Client Account funds will not roll over to the new system.
  • Available Client Account balances may be refunded by check upon request. To request a refund, email from the authorized email address associated with the account and include your Client ID (CID), the mailing address where the refund check should be sent, and the address associated with the client account.

The Section also provides records information by telephone and email and provides plain and certified copies upon request. Although the Section continues to accept documents by fax and mail, an increasing number of documents are received through electronic submission on SOSDirect.
