AUSTIN, TX – Last week, Texas Secretary of State Nandita Berry was the lead speaker for a roundtable discussion of Texas CEOs hosted by YTexas, a statewide consortium of chief executives working for a bright future in Texas.

“The Texas Economy is powered by the hard work and entrepreneurial risks taken by business leaders like those at this event,” said Secretary Berry. “In Texas we support business investment through low taxes, predictable regulation and a fair legal system, but it is Texans like these who actually make economic growth happen.”

YTexas  Founder and CEO, Ed Curtis, stressed the diversity of businesses present at the roundtable discussion.

“We worked to have a variety of businesses in Texas including fields like education, technology, talent acquisition, and even non-profits,” said Curtis.

The discussion centered on ways that the business community and the state can partner together to improve the lives of Texans.

“One of the most impressive things is that these business leaders are not just looking to strengthen Texas’ already strong economic environment but also to invest in the cultural and civic aspects that makes Texas such a wonderful place to live,” said Secretary Berry.

Members of YTexas liked what Secretary Berry had to say. The group is a statewide community of Texas chief executives who help their peers at companies that are moving to this state.

"It is fantastic to see Secretary Berry working with YTexas to establish strong and productive relationships with Texas CEOs,” said Dan Graham, chief executive officer of BuildASign. “She was incredibly personable and helpful, and I know I can reach out to her office whenever I have the need.”

In addition to BuildASign, other contributing organizations included SureScore, Aquasana, ScanSee, and the E3 Alliance.

As the 109th Texas Secretary of State, Secretary Berry serves as an economic ambassador for the state, helping to recruit businesses to Texas and promoting the unique economic environment.

This roundtable discussion was the first of similar events YTexas plans to host to help encourage connections with other Texas stakeholders.

“I want to thank Secretary Berry for helping us lead the first of these roundtable discussions,” said Curtis. “It reflects the exciting things that are happening in this state from collaboration across all sectors”
