Part III. Office of the Attorney General
Chapter 62. Sexual Assault Prevention and Crisis Services
(Editor's Note: Effective September 1, 1997, the Sexual Assault Prevention and Crisis Services Program moved from the Texas Department of Health, Title 25, Part I, Chapter 89, Preventive Health and Health Services to the Office of the Attorney General, Title 1, Part III, Chapter 62, Sexual Assault Prevention and Crisis Services.
The 75th Legislature enacted House Bill Number 2561 which transfers the Sexual Assault Prevention and Crisis Services Program to the Office of the Attorney General, and recodifies what was Chapter 44 of the Health and Safety Code, which governed the program, to Chapter 420 of the Government Code. The newly-enacted §420.004(b) of the Government Code provides that the Attorney General may adopt rules relating to assigning services areas, monitoring services, distributing funds, and collecting information from programs in accordance with this chapter.
