Austin, TX — El Paso-Today, Texas Secretary of State Carlos Cascos continues his Down to Business tour across Texas in El Paso.

“El Paso is an important part of the Texas economy especially as it relates to trade, military and education,” said Secretary Cascos. “I’m glad to be here today to listen to and help recognize local business leaders.”

Secretary Cascos is the keynote speaker at the Governor’s Small Business Forum hosted by the El Paso Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. In addition to sharing a message about Texas’ economy, Secretary Cascos will help present the Spirit of Texas Awards to accomplished area businesses.

“It’s business owners and entrepreneurs who make the Texas economy so strong, and I’m proud to represent the state in honoring these hard-working men and women,” said Secretary Cascos.

In addition to attending the Governor’s Small Business Forum, Secretary Cascos is meeting with local and business leaders through the Borderplex Alliance, touring an international bridge crossing, and visiting a colonia.

Sworn in on March 7, Secretary Cascos has since traveled the state on his Down to Business tour to highlight the strength and diversity of the Texas economy. Other cities Secretary Cascos has visited so far include: Houston, Pearland, Dallas, Nacogdoches and Lufkin.
